Ahead of the first Test against India, New Zeland skipper Kane Williamson said the Virat Kohli-led side is a world-class side with a remarkable pace unit that has performed in all conditions. India will take on the Black Cas, in the first game of the two-match Test series, starting from February 21 at Wellington.

Having won the T20I series by a handsome margin, the Men in Blue were completely demolished in the ODIs. The Tests will prove to be the decider as to who emerges on top after the tour ends.

India’s pace battery consisting of Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, and Umesh Yadav has gained respect around the world for their performances in recent years.

They have been deadly as a bowling unit and have helped India stay on the top.

India’s much-improved bowling line up is one of the key reasons behind India’s road to glory in Test cricket in recent years. They have made the Team India – the number one Test side in the world and are getting better with each game passing by.

Kane Williamson Hails Team India’s Pace Attack:

“India have a world-class side, world-class pace attack that have performed in all conditions. So, really an exciting opportunity for our team but once again it is trying to assist the conditions as best we can and commit our plans which ultimately gives us the best chance of good results,” Williamson told reporters at the pre-match conference on Wednesday.

In the seven ICC World Test Championship (WTC) matches so far, India have won all the games and bowlers have played a crucial role in all these clashes at home and away, irrespective of the conditions.

They were one of the key reasons behind India beating Australia at their home as they rattled through the Aussie batting line up emphatically.

India’s pace battery has now stacked up Navdeep Saini, another young pace spearhead who has left a mark on world cricket with his disciplined bowling performances recently.

The first Test between India and New Zealand will be played at the Basin Reserve in Wellington. Well, the pitch is expected to be favourable to the bowlers which will make the task cut out for the opening batsmen, especially against the new ball.
