Mohammad Siraj Becomes Latest Victim of Cyber Crime

Young Team India pacer, Mohammed Siraj who recently broke into the national team was the latest cricketer to be a victim of cybercrime. As per reports a minor boy allegedly a big Hyderabad fan has now landed himself in trouble after hacking into his social media accounts of the cricketer. The Hyderabad minor hacked his Gmail, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter handle and have not only done mischief and send ‘I love You’ messages to Siraj’s relatives.

After the incident, Siraj complained about the Cybercrime wing of the City Police and stated that his Facebook account had been hacked. The culprit was eventually tracked by police and found him to be a 14-year-old family friend turner fan of the cricketer. Siraj who made his debut for India in a T20I for the first time against New Zealand last year. He has a huge fan base in Hyderabad.

When got to know that his accounts were hacked, the cricketer approached the police, and the alleged 14-year-old minor was tracked in just a couple of hours. However, the cricketer decided not to record a case against him keeping in view his future.

As per reports from the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police KCS Raghu Vir, the cricketer got to know about this occurrence when his relatives received unusual messages from his Gmail and three social media accounts.

An investigating officer close to the developments said:

“The hacker gave a cell phone number as the new password to access social media accounts of Siraj. We obtained the details of the cell phone number and realized that it was being used by a 14-year-old boy from Begumpet, who is the son of a watchman.”

As per reports from a senior investigation officer, the 14-year-old minor boy was a resident of Begumpet was tracked down using his Internet Protocol address.
