Silencing all the speculations about what the future holds for MS Dhoni in international cricket, his manager Mihir Diwarkar, said that the former India captain is not thinking about retirement. The 2011 World Cup winning captain came under sever criticism for maintaining a poor strike rate in the quadrennial. Dhoni seemingly failed to finish games like he did during his earlier days.

Later, he decided to stay away from cricket, taking an initial two-month sabbatical which saw him serve the Indian Army. However, even after that period, he did not return to game and remained in complete silence as speculations began to grow over his international future. Incidentally, Dhoni began early preparations for the IPL, but the lucrative tournament did not start as per schedule due to the pandemic situation.

Now his childhood friend and manager Mihir Diwakar has claimed that Dhoni is not thinking about retirement at all. He, however said that the CSK captain is keen to play the IPL and worked hard for it well in advance.

“Being friends, we don’t talk about his cricket. But looking at him, he’s not all thinking about retirement,” Diwakar was quoted as saying by PTI.

“He is very determined to play the IPL. He has worked really hard for this. If you remember he was there in Chennai one month in advance before everything was shut down,” he added.
