Nearly a Year After, David Warner Catches Up With Former South African Cricketer Morne Morkel

David Warner, who is currently serving a ban caught up with former South African pacer Morne Morkel on February 28 (Thursday) at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) nets. Meanwhile, Warner was present at the SCG to receive treatment on his injured elbow. On the other hand, Morkel, who has married an Australian television presenter Roz Kelly, was bowling at the nets to the NSW batsmen.

Morkel, who currently resides in Australia is considering to apply for dual citizenship, which allows him to play in the Big Bash League as a local player. David Warner, however, is likely to return to training next week after suffering an injury in the Bangladesh Premier League. He will appear in the Indian Premier League before his highly-anticipated internal return. Morne Morkel, who got to know David Warner while playing alongside him in the early editions of the IPL, backed him to make an instant impact.

For sure, he’s a world-class player, and when bowling against him you always felt under pressure,” Morkel said.

In addition to, Morne Morkel is hopeful that David Warne will be fit and will be ready for the World Cup. The tall and lanky fast bowler feels the return Warner will add spice to the World Cup which will be good for the game.

Morkel announce his retirement last year, and during his stint with the Proteas, he has played 86 Tests, 117 ODIs, and 44 T20Is picking 309, 188, and 47 wickets respectively. The 34-year-old pacer would love to feature in the BBL and will be a hot property for the franchises in the upcoming edition.
