The veteran India cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar and his partner in crime, Sourav Ganguly seemed to have shared a common thought – India’s welfare at cricket’s showpiece event. Meanwhile, a few of the reports emerged urging the readers to look into a verbal disagreement between the two stalwarts. As Sachin had earlier said he would hate to give two points to Pakistan in the World Cup; Ganguly, on the other hand, said all he cares about his winning the trophy in the UK. Though his comments were misguided, he took it to twitter to clear the air. Further, Sachin also commented on the same.

As Ganguly tweeted, saying he didn’t mean to contradict Sachin’s statement – he added Tendulkar remains to be his best friend for the past 25 years. Dada said,

“A lot of people in the media is trying to put my statement against Sachin s when I said “I want the World Cup”My response has got nothing to do with his statement, nor is my statement against his .. he is, has been and will be one of my best friends for last 25 years

Replying to the post, the Master Blaster said,

“Never felt the need for you to justify. Strongly believe that all of us want what’s best for our nation.”

In the wake of the deadly terror attack in Pulwama on February 14th, where more than 42 CRPF jawans got martyred; a few of the politicians and former cricketers have voiced to boycott Pakistan at the 2019 World Cup. Though Sourav Ganguly, Paresh Rawal and Harbhajan Singh have asked for the same, the likes of Sachin, Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev had shared a different opinion. They said instead of boycotting Pakistan or forfeiting the game (which could benefit them when it comes to the points), India should face them, beat them and ensure Pakistan doesn’t reach the semis.

Meanwhile, a decision on the same is yet to come out.
