New Zealand Cricket has set up an exclusive zone where fans wear a special orange promotional T-shirts, and the spectator who takes a one-handed catch wearing the Tui-Breweries promotional T-shirt is awarded $50,000.

Mr. Dougherty had arrived early to the stadium to buy the T-shirt and was hoping to make amends after dropping a catch one year ago.

Dougherty said:

“My teammates were giving me s*** because I dropped an absolute sitter on the boundary with two hands the other week before Christmas. It hasn’t really sunk in yet, I still can’t believe I caught it, but it’s awesome that I did catch it.”

New Zealand won the third ODI by a huge margin of 183 runs as the hosts won the toss and chose to bat first and scored 257, with skipper Kane Williamson top scoring with 73 runs. Rumman Raees and Hasan Ali took three wickets each.
