Pakistan and England will face off in the seventh and final T20I of the series in Gaddafi Cricket Stadium in Lahore on Sunday. The team management will be concerned over the poor performances of Shan Masood, Haider Ali and Asif Ali, who failed to make a contribution in the previous match. The performance of Haider Ali will also be a concerning one for the team management as he only managed to score 36 runs in the four T20I innings played against England.

On the batting front, the side will be relying on the likes of captain Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, the middle-order trio of Shan Masood, Iftikhar Ahmed and Haider Ali to deliver the bulk of the runs and post a competitive total on the board.

Opener Mohammad Rizwan is in top form and is the leading run-getter in the ongoing series with 315 runs averaging 78.75 in 5 T20Is. He was the highest run-getter in Asia Cup 2022 as well. Babar Azam, who had a poor Asia Cup 2022, is the 2nd highest run-getter with 281 runs in 6 T20Is averaging 70.25.

On the bowling front, the onus will be once again on the likes of Mohammad Hasnain, Shahnawaz Dahani, Shadab Khan and Mohammad Wasim Jnr. to produce timely breakthroughs. Naseem Shah has been ruled out after contracting Covid-19. Haris Rauf is the leading wicket-taker with 8 scalps in 5 T20Is averaging 20.62.

In the previous 6th T20I, Mohammad Rizwan was rested while Pakistan skipper Babar Azam top scored with an unbeaten 87 off 59 balls but it went in vain as England reached the target of 170 losing only 2 wickets. In the 5th T20I, Mohammad Rizwan scored 63 as Pakistan won by 6 runs with debutant Aamer Jamal giving only 8 runs in the final over.

In the 4th T20I, Mohammad Rizwan scored 88 and Haris Rauf picked 3/32 as Pakistan won by 3 runs, successfully defending 166. In the 3rd T20I, England scored 221/3 with Ben Duckett scoring an unbeaten 70 and Harry Brook scoring an unbeaten 81.

In the 2nd T20I, Pakistan successfully chased 200 runs target without losing a wicket with Babar Azam scoring a ton (110*) while Mohammad Rizwan scored 88*. In the 1st T20I, England won by 6 wickets successfully chasing 159 as debutant Luke Wood picked 3/24 while Alex Hales scored 53 upon his return from a long exile.

The visitors will go into the match high on confidence after securing a comprehensive eight-wicket win in the sixth T20I on Friday.  The most pleasing thing for the team management was that Phil Salt managed to find his form with the bat in the previous match.

The splendid performances of experienced players like Sam Curran, David Willey and Reece Topley were enough to see England make a tremendous comeback in the T20I series. After a clinical performance from England, the side might make some changes to their playing XI for this series decider.

For Pakistan, Haider Ali was hospitalized after the last game so is unlikely to feature on Sunday. His absence should make way for Khushdil Shah. Mohammad Rizwan and Haris Rauf are both expected to return, likely as straight swaps for Mohammad Harris and Shahnawaz Dahani.

Jos Buttler appears unlikely to play despite making good progress in his rehabilitation from a calf injury and Moeen Ali will continue as captain in his absence.
