Rajasthan Royals Appoint Rob Cassell As Their New Fast Bowling Coach

The champions of the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League Rajasthan Royals appointed the former Australian fast bowler Rob Cassell as the bowling coaching for the upcoming edition of the IPL. The head coach Andrew McDonald has got a good rapport with Rob Cassell, who worked for South Australia with a lot of commitment.

The former Australia pacer will take over from Steffan Jones, who has been appointed as the development coach for the off-season. Rob Cassell will leave his role as Ireland’s assistant coach and will join Rajasthan Royals as their new fast bowling coach. Cassell started as the assistant coach in September 2017 and had worked for South Australian Cricket Association as a high-performance coach in the six years prior to that.

Speaking of the appointment, the head coach stated that he followed the career of Rob Cassell for a long time now and happy to have him in the dugout for the upcoming IPL season. He strongly believes Rob’s experience will help Rajasthan Royals to up their game during the progress of the tournament.

“We are delighted to have Rob Cassell on board as the new fast bowling coach for the upcoming IPL season. We have a great relationship from our days at Victoria together. I have followed his career closely and he is someone who has done the hard yards as a fast bowling coach in his career to date,” said Royals’ Head Coach, Andrew McDonald.

”His pure focus is coaching and under his guidance, several fast bowlers have come through the ranks and succeeded at the top level. His eye for execution and innovation in the game is something that we’re looking to utilise here at the Royals. His varied experience will hopefully prove to be instrumental for our bowling line-up.”

Meanwhile, Rob Cassell is delighted to work with Rajasthan Royals for the upcoming season. He hopes to deliver his best for the team and added that Royals got the best squad to lift the cup in the upcoming edition. Rob Cassell wishes to help in all the possible ways for the team.

I am therefore really excited to chip in with my ideas and help maximise this team’s abilities,” Rob Cassell added.
