Ranji Trophy: Ravichandran Ashwin, Dinesh Karthik In Tamil Nadu Team Against Mumbai, Railways

Tamil Nadu face a tough competition ahead as they face Mumbai and Railways in the next two Ranji Trophy games. Meanwhile, TNCA has named a solid team comprising India’s premier off-spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin, experienced wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik and Abhinav Mukund for the next two games.

Vijay Shankar-led Tamil Nadu will play against Mumbai at the M A Chidambaram stadium from January 11. After that, they will take on Railways in the same venue from January 19. Ravichandran Ashwin who played the first two matches of the season against the likes of Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh, which Tamil Nadu lost both the games, returns to the squad for the important game against Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Dinesh Karthik and left-handed opener Mukund are back with a bang after having missed three games. They both featured in the season-opener first match against Karnataka at Dindigul.

Murali Vijay out of the squad

Out-of-favour Murali Vijay is not part of Tamil Nadu squad, having missed out since the season’s opening fixture against Karnataka. As per Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) press release, the team includes the likes of veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and two other spinners namely Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore and Manimaran Siddharth and pacers- Thangarasu Natarajan and Krishnamoorthy Vignesh.
