Meanwhile coming back to Dhoni, he remains the only skipper to lead his nation to victories in all three major ICC trophies. It includes the ICC World Twenty in 2007, the ICC World Cup in 2011 and the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013.

MS Dhoni’s calm and composed demeanour has set him apart from his peers. Even Virat Kohli goes up to him for suggestions, and he could be seen changing the fields even without Viray’s constant. It goes on to prove the trust Kohli has in Dhoni.

Dhoni had a great IPL

The former captain is not the same old vintage Dhoni who burst onto the scene in 2004. However, he is still a force to reckon with and can take any bowling attack to the cleaners. He had a brilliant IPL season with the bat where he scored more than 400 runs at an exceptional strike rate. Dhoni looked his old self and smashed more than 30 sixes during the tournament.

The former skipper is currently busy with national duties in England. The Men in Blue are squaring off in a three-match T20I series which will be followed by as many ODI’s and five-match Test series.

Dhoni looked in good touch during the 2nd T20I where he remained unbeaten on 32 off 24 deliveries. However, the visitors couldn’t quite get over the line. England held their nerves and courtesy a brilliant knock of 58 from Alex Hales, England chased the target of 149 down with just a couple of deliveries to spare.
