Agarkar who played for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy has always been close to his Mumbai teammates. Mumbai players like Zaheer Khan, Sachin Tendulkar, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma etc. have all been close to each other even while playing for the national side. Players use social media platforms to wish fellow cricketers on occasions like birthdays and anniversary. This time around, Rohit Sharma wished Ajit a very happy birthday.

He wrote on his Twitter account, “Many happy returns @imAagarkar hope you guys have finally recovered from the big fat wedding. Have a splendid year ahead.”

Agarkar was known for his ability to bowl Yorkers at will and could use the long handle lower down the order. He is one of the rare Indian cricketers to have a hundred at the home of cricket Lord’s. He was the eighth Indian to score a century at Lord’s. In all, there have been 10 Indians to score a century at Lord’s.
