India skipper Virat Kohli has now made quite a habit of scoring centuries.

The 29-year old, who recently bagged the ICC Cricketer of the Year Award, has looked a class apart in the ongoing tour of South Africa. On the tour where only one player, Faf du Plessis had managed to score a century, the India batting mainstay had already hit three. Even in the Test series where not a single player could cross the triple-digit mark, Kohli played an excellent knock of 153 in the second Test.

Kohli has continued batting with the same form in the ongoing One-Day International series too. The right-handed batsman had opened the series with a decisive knock of 112 to help India chase down 269 easily before scoring a crucial 46 not out in the following game as the Men in Blue easily chased down 119.

The Delhi-born star then continued from where he left off in the 2nd ODI in Centurion with yet another century in the 3rd ODI in Cape Town on Wednesday (February 7).

It was not the typical flamboyant innings from Kohli, but the world will remember the knock for a long, long time. On a pitch where stroke-making looked quite difficult; Kohli played a monumental knock of 160 not out which is his second-highest ODI score after 183 against Pakistan in 2012.

The inning came off 159 balls and was studded with 12 fours and a couple of sixes.

Wickets fell at regular intervals from one end, but Kohli held firm from the other and ensured the visitors post a massive total. Kohli remained until the very end, helping India to score 303 for six in the allotted 50 overs.

The world is now in a dearth of finding superlatives to describe Kohli’s unprecedented exploits with the bat and former India batsman Mohammad Kaif is no different. Kaif took to Twitter to lavish praise on the India star, as he said he does not have any words to describe the player who has amassed 34 tons in just 205 games.

“No words to describe Virat Kohli ‘s consistency. Other good batsmen look really ordinary once you watch him bat. What a joy to watch him score hundreds for fun. 34 of them now and this, one of his best #INDvSA,” Kaif wrote.

Coming to the match, India bowled out the Proteas for just 179 to win the third ODI by 124 runs. Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal once again starred with the ball, picking up four wickets each, as India took an unassailable 3-0 lead in the six-match series.
