Sheldon Cottrell Salutes MS Dhoni's Love For The Country - See Tweets

West Indies’ pacer Sheldon Cottrell has heaped praises on former India captain MS Dhoni, who has inspired him through his love for the country. Cottrell recently shared a video of MS Dhoni on his Twiter account, where Dhoni can be seen marching before collecting his award from The President of India.

Cottrell was so impressed with Dhoni that he did not just share the video but also wrote a lovely message for the former India captain. Here is what Cottrell wrote on Twitter –

This man is an inspiration on the cricket field. But he is also a patriot and a man that gives to his country beyond duty. I have been at home in Jamaica with my boys these past weeks and had time to reflect (1/2)

Cottrell is a member of Jamaican Defence Force. He does not shy away from paying respect to Jamaican defence force even on the field as he salutes them after each and every wicket he takes. Cottrell has been doing it for long but his salute celebration became quite famous during World Cup 2019..

Dhoni is a member of the Indian army and holds a Lieutenant Colonel rank in the army. In fact, he is on a break from the game and is serving the Indian army. Dhoni is expected to return to action after serving the army.

There were expectations that he might retire from the game after World Cup 2019 but Dhoni looks set to play for few more years. He is not a part of the series against West Indies but is expected to return during the home series against South Africa.

In his absence, Rishabh Pant, for the first time in his career, will don the wicketkeepng gloves for a complete series. Though he ha kept wickets in ODIs but not on a regular basis. He is also now a permanenet member of the Test team and looks set to fill Dhoni’s shoes across formats.

On the other hand, Cottrell is a part of West Indies team for T20I and ODI series that start later this month. The first two T20Is of the series will be played in the USA before both the teams will fly to Caribbean islands for the series.
