Cheteshwar Pujara is one of those batsmen who are not at all known for their bowling. In fact, in his 75-Test and 5-ODI career, he has bowled just one over without picking up any wicket. However, on Friday, he showed that he can do some damage with the ball too. The India star produced a moment of magic on the field with the ball in the final over of Saurashtra’s Ranji Trophy match against Uttar Pradesh.

On his second delivery of the over, he picked up the final wicket of Mohit Jangra with his leg-spin bowling. And as soon as Jangra edged the ball to the slip, Cheteshwar Pujara was off for a short sprint as he celebrated the wicket in an animated manner. He was seen shouting and punching the air in delight before his teammates gathered around him.

After the day ended, he also posted the clip of the wicket on his Instagram account. In fact, it was a clip of him watching the wicket in his spare time as he captioned it:

“The day when I changed my Batsman status to an All-rounder.”

Soon after Cheteshwar Pujara posted the clip on Instagram, Shikhar Dhawan jumped to action. The southpaw hilariously trolled his India teammate for the celebration. Dhawan hilariously advised Pujara to sprint in the same manner while taking a run, writing:

“Bhai kabhi itne tez sprint running karte waqt bhi maar liya kar. Well bowled waise,” Dhawan commented along with a few smileys.

Ravichandran Ashwin also commented on the video and asked Pujara to bowl more, writing: “Incredible!! It’s time to bowl more.”

As far as the game is concerned, UP are in a strong position despite Pujara’s heroics with the ball. They have taken a mammoth first-innings lead of 192 runs against Saurashtra. Saurashtra scored 331 with Pujara and Sheldon Jackson top-scoring for the team with 57 runs each. In reply, UP rode on Mohammad Saif’s 16 and fifties from Akshdeep Nath (95), Rinku Singh (71) and Aryan Juyal (52) to post 523.
