Harbhajan Singh, the veteran Indian National Cricket team off-spinner, has urged the management not to try out new players ahead of the ICC World Cup in England and Wales. Meanwhile, the men in blues are still pondering over the no four spot as batsmen have struggled to show consistency.

The management handed the debut cap to youngster Shubman Gill, who has shown enough prospect in the domestic cricket. However, he failed to score runs in the first two games he has played in the land of the Kiwis. Speaking to India Today, Harbhajan Singh noted that there is no need to try out new players. He also hailed Ambati Rayudu, who has done well batting at no four. The veteran off-spinner also seemed confident that he would do well in England. In addition to, Harbhajan also noted that MS Dhoni’s return to form will be a massive boost for the side.

I think there is no need to try any new player now. They [middle order] have been playing some good cricket for quite a while now. MS Dhoni’s form is a big relief for all of us. Ambati [Rayudu] has done well, he has got that technique to tackle spin and pace. I have played a lot of cricket with him and he is a very good batsman. Maybe he is not having the best of the times but I am confident he will come good,” Harbhajan said.

Bad day at work

In addition to, Harbhajan Singh noted that it was a bad day business for the Indian batsman in the last outing against New Zealand at Hamilton. Trent Boult picked a five-wicket haul as the middle-order batsman crumbled cheaply. Yuzvendra Chahal topped the scoring chart with 18 runs with Ambati Rayudu and Dinesh Karthik got out for a duck.

Singh sounded confident that they will d a good job in the showpiece event as they have done a tremendous job over the last one year.
