Australia’s Will Pucovski and Marcus Harris have broken a 30-year old record for the highest opening partnership in the history of Sheffield Shield, the premier domestic competition of Australian cricket. They became the pair with the highest opening partnership as Will Pucovski and Marcus Harris scored double hundreds each to see their team Victoria score 486 runs for the first wicket

The previous record was held by Steve Waugh and Mark Waugh as the Australian brothers out in a 464-run stand for the first wicket back in 1990. The brothers then set this record playing for New South Wales in the Sheffield Shield in a game against Western Australia.
