The sporting apparel giants, Nike on yesterday launched Indian National Cricket team new jersey for the upcoming ICC World Cup in England and Wales starting from May 30. Meanwhile, India will begin their campaign on June 5 against South Africa. However, the men in blues will start their last leg of preparation ahead of the showpiece event when they clash against Australia in the five-match ODI series.

Although the home side went down in the T20I series, the return of form for KL Rahul will be a huge bonus for the side. After a forgetting tour of Australia, Rahul spent time with Rahul Dravid and India A side which helped his cause. He came back to score 50 and 47 in the two games and has pushed his chances for the World Cup. However, the management is still pondering over whether to use him as a backup opener or in the middle-order. On the other hand, Vijay Shankar will be keen to use this long run in the absence of Hardik Pandya to be in the good books of the selectors. Moreover, the return of Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Shami will also strengthen the bowling attack which lacked experience during the T20Is.

As a result, the management will look to settle all their combinations for the pinnacle event. Virat Kohli on the eve of the game admitted that IPL will have no influence on World Cup squad selection. Thus, it will be the last opportunity for the cricketers who are on the fringe line to cement their berth.

However, ahead of the stern challenge, the Indian National Cricket team players shared a moment of joy on the occasion of the launch of new jersey. The cricketers took part in a photo shoot in their new jersey ahead of the mega event. The new kit has come out with two shades of blue in it and a tinge of orange to grab the eyeballs of the viewers. It also has the logo of BCCI with three stars on top of it marking India’s three successful World Cup campaigns. The jersey also has World Cup winnings dates imprinted on it with the exact longitude and latitude in it.

The cricketers happily posed for the pictures and even Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul took us through to the new jersey expressing in detail the advantages of the new kit.
