Afghanistan star Rashid Khan wreaked havoc with the ball, taking a sensational hat-trick as Guyana Amazon Warriors thrashed defending Jamaica Tallawahs in the Caribbean Premier League eliminator.

Tallawahs were looking primed to post a huge total after racing away to 116 for 4 in 14 overs. However, the match turned on its head when Rayad Emrit called Rashid for his second spell. The move paid rick dividends as the leg-spinner took wickets on his first three balls and impressively all were bowled as he left the Tallawahs reeling at 118 for 7 at the end of his over.

This is how Rashid picked up his first career hat-trick:

14.1: Rashid to Andre McCarthy, out!

The first of the three wickets came with a googly when McCarthy completely failed to read the delivery. The right-handed batsman went for a drive against the turn and paid the price for it.

14.2: Rashid to Jonathan Foo, out!

This dismissal was the replica of the previous one as Foo too failed to pick up the delivery.

14.3: Rashid to Rovman Powell, out!

Rashid bowled another googly and the result was same as Powell also went for the drive against the turn and was clean bowled.

The Tallawahs’ innings was totally derailed and they were struggling to even reach the 150-run mark but captain Kumar Sangakkara held firm from the other and played an unbeaten knock of 57 off 38 to propel the team  to 168 for 8 in the allotted 20 overs.  In reply, the Warriors,  led by Luke Ronchi’s 33-ball 70 runs knock, chased down the total inside 18 overs.
