England’s fast bowler Liam Plunkett thinks that England is confident about their chances to win the ICC World Cup 2019 on the home soil (England and Wales).

England is yet to put their hands on the trophy. However, they have already featured themselves in three ICC World Cup finals. Moreover, the team is looking confident of setting that record straight in the ICC World Cup 2019 in their home conditions.

Moreover, England had lost their way in the first round of the ICC World Cup 2015.

Meanwhile, after that, England have made considerable improvements in the 50-over format. Currently, they’re ranked the No.1 team on the MRF Tyres ICC ODI Team Rankings.

However, England has combined themselves with fiery batsmen and skilful bowlers in the team. Plunkett has played an essential role for England. He has some high hopes with the England team for next year’s big campaign.

Furthermore, with age catching up, Liam Plunkett wants to put everything into it.

He was rather excited for the tournament. Moreover, he added that England was so close to winning the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 in the last year.

Plunkett also said that the England team would play around in different conditions and make them steady for the World Cup.

Muscular Plunkett, however, feels that this might be the great chance for England and will not get any further opportunity and will try to grab it for this time.

“I’m 33, is this the last one? You want to put everything into it. I’m so excited. We fell short in the Champions Trophy last year but we’ve got better at playing around the world in different conditions and that will keep us in good stead for the World Cup,” Plunkett told to Cricbuzz.

“We feel like we have a great chance of winning it. I don’t think we’ve had a better chance,” he added.

Moreover, in the last three years, the Three Lions pacer, Plunkett has taken 69 wickets from 39 one-day internationals. He is averaging at 26.11. However, variations are the only key to become successful in the recent years.

“If I am hitting that line and length at a heavy pace, I’m hard to hit, but batters can get used to that,” Plunkett explained. “I like to have a ball that goes away from the right-hander like a leg-cutter, a ball that goes away from the left-hander, which will be an off-cutter, and then something out of the front or the back of the hand so that it’s harder to hit over your head,” he stated.

“Then you’ve got your yorker and bouncer. When you say yorker, you’ve got a wide yorker, leg-stump yorker, round the wicket, so there’s loads of different variations. But it’s just about making sure you can do that skill under pressure.” Plunkett concluded.

Ahead of the ICC World Cup 2019, England has been in a good stead with Liam Plunkett aiming for a long run.
