Of late, Pakistan is showing their dominance across the formats. The team instilled of confidence with the young bunch of lads delivering goods in style. And the perfect skipper is making the things fall in the right place for Pakistan. Meanwhile, the promising Sarfraz Ahmed wants to take Asia Cup 2018 home. The stage is set to test their calibre as he added ICC Champions Trophy 2017 happened to be one of the sweetest memories.

The wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfraz is aware that as many as five teams, who are featuring in the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 are participating in Asia Cup 2018. He believes it is the best chance to test the unit.

The skipper of Pakistan also felt that it is the best chance for them to look after their team rankings as well.

Sarfraz reiterated he is setting his sight on the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 and wants to lift the coveted Asia Cup 2018 title as the guiding point for him.

He wants to know where his team stands in front of the five teams that are set to take the field in the World Cup 2019 in England and Wales. However, it seems like Pakistan is well-equipped for the tournament as far as Sarfraz’s words are concerned.

”Asia Cup is a great chance for Pakistan to rise up in the ICC ODI team rankings. Especially, when the 2019 Cricket World Cup is not far away. He said half the teams who will feature in the World Cup are participating in the Asia Cup. So, it is a great chance for us to see where we stand,” Sarfraz said in an ICC press release.

 

“We have sweet memories of the ICC Champions Trophy last year but we have new challenges ahead,” he maintained.

However, as Sarfraz noted, Asia Cup 2018 will help all the other teams to look after themselves against the World Cup participants. Meanwhile, it is also a great chance to boost their ICC ODI team rankings as well.

Pakistan which looked different side during the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 will start their campaign in the Asia Cup 2018 against Hong Kong on September 16th at Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Well, It will be followed by the game against their arch-rivals India on September 19th.
