The mixture of pace and aggression for what speedster Dale Steyn is known is further confident of doing well for South Africa in upcoming ICC World Cup 2019.

Of late, the Proteas paceman is blighted by multiple injuries.  However, he is optimistic of coming good in the United Kingdom (UK) during the cricket carnival.

Despite stating his availability to Proteas for the coveted event, he kept his money on the premium fast bowler, Kagiso Rabada, who can do the job for the team under any circumstances.

The Proteas star furtherly added he is confident of his batsman doing well in the limited-overs format. However, he raised his concern about the fast bowling department.

Moreover, he is sure of getting back to form after remaining off road for the lengthy gap since heel injury during home series against India.

Steyn went on speaking about the absence of AB de Villiers in the dugout. But he wants to count on the experience of other batsmen in the side who did well for the team.

”I don’t think it’s a massive issue but I think in terms of experience it’s our biggest problem. If you look at our top six batters, those guys have all played 800-plus games. But if you look at our bowling, our bottom four, they have probably played 150 games. That’s a massive difference. There’s a heavy weight that weighs up there,” Steyn said at a promotional event for GoPro.

”Even at 35 I am still learning but I know what I am doing. These guys need that. I am hoping that’s what I can offer in the white ball scene and obviously play and win games for the country,” Steyn remarked.

The classy right-arm bowler wants to test other individuals in the absence of de Villiers.

Dale Steyn added that batting giant De Villiers is a massive player who will be missing out during the ICC World Cup 2019.

”The world wants to see their superstars and he’s definitely one of them, if not the biggest one in terms of batting. Opposition fear him but you never really judge yourself until you have tested yourself against the best. If the best is no longer there it’s quite difficult to judge yourself. He’s only one player but he is a massive player,” he added.

However, it would be interesting to see how things would pan out for Steyn and Proteas sooner. Though South Africa team is without de Villiers, the presence of few other stalwarts will always keep them in the contention to win the coveted trophy.
