The Indian limited-overs team under Rahul Dravid have started their training session in Sri Lanka and some young faces might use this opportunity to break into the T20 Worldcup squad. It will be a big test for players like Prithvi Shaw, Varun Chakravarthy who have the potential to be an X factor in the Indian squad for T20 Worldcup.

However, certain players will automatically make the Indian squad for the T20 World cup as they have already performed under crucial stages and they have shown their potential. With a note on that, here are 3 Indian players who will retain their spot in the T20 World cup squad despite Poor performance in Sri Lanka.

Hardik Pandya is going to play the role of a finisher in the ICC World T20 Worldcup for India and he will be a big prospect as an all-rounder with his bowling skills as well. He wasn’t picked up in the Indian squad for the Test series as he hasn’t been bowling regularly but could well start bowling in the tour of Sri Lanka.

Hardik has been slightly out of form in the recent IPL but will not be a concern as he is a big player for India at the moment. He can change a game on its head quickly and won the man of the series award in the Australian tour. He is assured of a place in the Indian T20 Worldcup squad already even if he doesn’t bowl.

Yuzvendra Chahal:

Yuzvendra Chahal has been a standout bowler for India in the limited-overs format for the last two to three years but has slightly fallen out of form in recent times including the IPL. The leg spinner hasn’t found his lengths and lines which was a hallmark of his game so far.

Chahal has picked up 62 wickets in 46 matches so far at an average of 25.4 at an economy rate of 8.40 in T20 internationals. His numbers have been very really good to be ignored in the T20 World cup and he will continue to remain in the T20 Squad for the World cup even he doesn’t perform in the Sri Lankan tour.

Suryakumar Yadav:

Suryakumar Yadav was very impressive in the T20 series against England where he made his debut and he has a huge role to play in the Indian middle-order which hasn’t been at its best in recent times. A lot of players have been tried and Suryakumar Yadav seems to be the perfect choice in the middle order for India.

Suryakumar Yadav plays a lot of unorthodox shots which can be very effective in T20 cricket and he has been part of the winning franchises for a long time now in the IPL which might be very handy for India in the title chase. His ability to up the scoring rate is also going to be a big factor and he should make the T20 World cup squad even if he doesn’t do well in Sri Lanka.
