ICC T20 World Cup 2022: Kuldeep Yadav Not Disappointed By T20 World Cup 2022 Snub, Says I Am More Focused On The Process

Kuldeep Yadav revealed that he was not unhappy after missing the trip for the T20 World Cup 2022. He began his career as India’s top spinner in 2017, but he struggled to keep his spot in the national side over time. Despite the fact that selectors are still keeping an eye on Kuldeep Yadav, he did not make the cut for the major tournament in Australia.

Yadav voiced his thoughts following India’s seven-wicket victory over South Africa in the third and final ODI on Tuesday, October 11 at New Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium. The left-arm wrist spinner recognized that only the best players were picked for the World Cup and has accepted his absence with grace. 

One’s Who Are Selected Are Among The Best: Kuldeep Yadav

“I am not disappointed about missing out on the World Cup because I am more focussed on the process. I am seeing how I can improve match by match. I am not disappointed as the ones who were selected are among the best,” Kuldeep said during the post-match press conference. 

Kuldeep Yadav bowled only four overs of his 10-over session in the last ODI series decider, picking up four wickets while allowing only 18 runs. His four-wicket haul enabled India to dismiss South Africa for 99 runs, setting an easy goal for India.

Kuldeep Yadav Shares Best Wishes For His Spin Partner Yuzvendra Chahal

During the press conference, Kuldeep Yadav was also asked if he missed working as a spin partner with Yuzvendra Chahal. He responded with a laugh and wished his spin-bowling partner well in the World Cup, which is notably Chahal’s first. 

“It’s a tricky question. He is in Australia for the T20 World Cup and my best wishes are with him. Hope he performs well and I keep performing in ODIs,” he added. 

In the One-Day International series, India dropped the opening game by nine runs, but the Men in Blue came back strong to win the other two matches and win the series 2-1. While Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan helped India win the second ODI, Kuldeep Yadav guided India to victory in the third ODI.
