Wasim Akram, a legendary Pakistani bowler, expressed his frustration at a fan’s question aimed at Shoaib Malik.

Veteran all-rounder, Shoaib Malik’s absence from Pakistan’s T20 World Cup squad was one of the squad’s notable omissions.

The 40-year-old superstar was a member of the team for the World Cup the year before, but he was left off the roster for the prestigious competition this year in Australia. Due to the middle-order batters’ patchy performances, Malik was widely predicted by many former cricketers to be included in the 15-member squad; however, the selection committee decided to stick with the current group of batters for the tournament.

Speculations about Malik’s future with the national team grew after the all-rounder was passed over for the T20 World Cup. The Pakistan star was questioned about his future with the team once more when he participated in an expert panel for the World Cup on a national news channel before the start of the competition.

When a supporter asked if Malik had already retired from international cricket, Wasim Akram, the former Pakistan captain, responded in a rather agitated manner rather than the all-rounder.

Along with Malik, Wasim Akram served on the expert panel for the program, and the legendary pace bowler made no effort to hide his irritation at the fan’s question.

“You guys are in a hurry for everything. If he has to retire, he will retire. Otherwise, even now, he is one of the fittest players in the world,” Akram said on A News.

Then Wasim Akram implored Malik to respond to the same, who had a fairly simple response to the query.

“When I will retire, everyone will know. I’m enjoying my cricket right now, so there’s no plan for that at the moment,” Malik stated.

Malik is regarded as a versatile player. He can hit big shots, but he can also rotate the strike with good placement.
