The 32-year-old India National Cricket Team in-form middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed by the 28-year-old in-form Pakistan National Cricket Team pacer Haris Rauf in the high-voltage India-Pakistan clash.

The 16th match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 was played between arch-rivals India National Cricket Team led by Rohit Sharma and Pakistan National Cricket Team led by Babar Azam at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday, October 23.

India were off to a poor start in the match as openers – KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma – failed miserably once again against Pakistan. Suryakumar Yadav came out to bat after the dismissal of Rohit and he looked comfortable out in the middle.

Suryakumar smashed two good boundaries before being cleaned up by Haris Rauf on the 3rd ball of the 6th over. The Pakistan express pacer bowled a short-of-a-length delivery that zipped through off the pitch. Suryakumar, who was looking to cut the ball away, got no room and only managed to nick the ball and wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan grabbed the simple catch. The Pakistan pacer roared in celebration and went down on his knees while punching the air.

The 32-year-old Suryakumar, who is the No.2 ranked batter in the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings, was able to score 15 runs off 10 balls, including 2 fours.

Pakistan Post 159/8 While Batting First vs India

Losing the toss and batting first, Pakistan National Cricket Team were able to post 159/8 on the board. Pakistan were off to an awful start in the match as star openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were cleaned up by Arshdeep Singh. At the end of the powerplay, Pakistan were at 32/2.

Then, Shan Masood and Iftikhar Ahmed had a good 76-run partnership in 50 balls with the latter being the aggressor. Iftikhar Ahmed, who accelerated in the latter half of his innings, scored 51 runs off 34 balls, including 2 fours and 4 sixes, before being cleaned up by Mohammed Shami in the 13th over.

In the end, Shan Masood scored 52 runs off 42 balls, including 5 fours, while Shaheen Shah Afridi (16) and Haris Rauf (6) chipped in with decent contributions to help Pakistan post a decent total on the board.
