Ollie Robinson speaks up on Jasprit Bumrah's performance a day ahead of Rajkot Test

England pacer Ollie Robinson has heaped praises on Jasprit Bumrah after his brilliant bowling show in the IND vs ENG Test series. Ollie Robinson also feels that Jasprit Bumrah is the best bowler in the world.

The 31-year-old has troubled England batters with his lethal pace in the ongoing series. Jasprit Bumrah won the player of the match award in India vs England 2nd Test in Vizag. The right-arm pacer hunted 9 wickets in the match; including a 6-wicket haul in 1st innings.

In the 1st Test in Hyderabad, Bumrah hunted 6 wickets across two innings with a four-wicket haul. Across two Tests, Bumrah accounts for 15 wickets at an average of 10.67. He is also the leading wicket-taker in the series.

This bloke is the best bowler in the world: Ollie Robinson lauds Jasprit Bumrah

England pacer Ollie Robinson lauded Jasprit Bumrah during a chat with Wisden. The England seamer recalled that he felt Bumrah was the best bowler in the world after watching his bowling in Vizag.

“Jasprit Bumrah has been crazy good. I must have said, ‘This bloke is the best bowler in the world,’ ten times in Vizag. The way he got Popey out, I was like, ‘Oh my, this guy’s a joke”, Robinson said.

“And then he got Foakesy (Ben Foakes) out with a slower ball and I’m like, ‘Oh my goodness, can this guy get any better?’ You watch him and you think, ‘Wow, he’s good,’ said Robinson, who is yet to play any game in IND vs ENG series.

Jasprit Bumrah is really special to watch: Ollie Robinson

Ollie Robinson also added that it is really special to watch Bumrah bowl in challenging conditions in India.

“And then there’s something else where you think, ‘He’s amazing, can he do anything more?’ And as a bowler – me and Jimmy were speaking about it and after the last game. To watch him play his trade in India is really special because we’re always striving to put on a performance like that in these conditions”, the 30-year-old added.

Bumrah to be rested in one of the last two games

Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah is going to be part of the playing 11 in IND vs ENG 3rd Test. The match begins on Thursday, February 15 at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.  Interestingly, the Indian pacer is highly likely to be rested in either the 4th or 5th Test to manage his workload in the series. Some reports claimed he will be rested in the 4th Test in Ranchi.

KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja have also returned to the squad after missing the IND vs ENG 2nd Test in Vizag due to injuries. Shreyas Iyer has been dropped for the last three Tests due to a back niggle. Avesh Khan has been replaced by uncapped pacer Akash Deep.
