The IND vs ENG third test starts in Rajkot on February 15. The Test series is poised at 1-1 with both teams enjoying almost a 10-day break between the second and the third test match. 

England won the first Test by 28 runs. India came back to win the second Test by 106 runs with the visitors failing to chase down 399 to win in the second innings. 

India scored 396 in the first innings on the back of Yashasvi Jaiswal’s maiden double ton. England in response were bowled out for 253. Shubman Gill then scored his third Test century to drive India to 255 and set England a record chase in India. The visitors faltered as their “Bazball” approach did not result in the team’s win. 

After a good break now both teams are looking forward to the third test in Rajkot. Heading into the IND vs ENG third Test India are placed third on the WTC points table with a PCT of 52.77. England are placed as low as eighth with 25.0. New Zealand leads the table with Australia placed second. 

A lot has changed in the meantime in both camps. England were off to a break in Abu Dhabi and has returned after a rejuvenating session and meeting their family members. The BCCI meanwhile named the India squad for the final three Test matches. 

Virat Kohli continues to remain absent from the series due to personal reasons. It is said that Shreyas Iyer after his recent string of poor performances has been dropped and asked to go back to domestic cricket.

The BCCI has made it mandatory for the players who are not a part of the Test team to participate in the next round of Ranji trophy matches. 

Meanwhile, in other concerns regarding players, KL Rahul was ruled out of the second Test after the NCA medical team communicated to the BCCI that he was not yet fit to play.

Rahul missed the second Test due to a right quadriceps injury. Ravindra Jadeja has recovered from his hamstring injury and is included in the squad. For England, Jack Leach is ruled out of the series with his knee injury. For India, there are reports of Jasprit Bumrah being rested for the third Test.

For England. visa issues have cropped up yet again this time with Rehan Ahmed. The England leg spinner was stopped at the Rajkot airport due to incomplete paperwork related to his visa.

Sportstar reported that Ahmed was stopped from reentering to India as because he only held a single-entry visa. Rehan was given an emergency visa that allowed him to be with the team with ECB assured that the issue would be sorted in the next 24 hours.
