Trophies And Award
India has won the ICC Cricket World Cup twice, in 1983 and 2011. The 1983 victory, under the captaincy of Kapil Dev, marked a historic moment for Indian cricket as they defeated the West Indies in the final. The 2011 triumph, led by MS Dhoni, saw India defeat Sri Lanka in the final.
Adding to their accolades, India clinched the inaugural ICC T20 Cricket World Cup in 2007, with Dhoni once again at the helm, prevailing over arch-rivals Pakistan in the final. The ICC Champions Trophy has also seen Indian triumphs, notably in 2002 (co-champions with Sri Lanka) and in 2013, further solidifying their status in the cricketing world under Dhoni's leadership.
On the Asian stage, India has dominated the Asia Cup, lifting the trophy on several occasions, including in 1984, 1988, 1990-91, 1995, 2010, and 2016. The Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia has witnessed Indian victories, reflecting their prowess in Test cricket.
