Amazing hard-hitter in the making! These words can be attributed to Ayush Badoni for his quickfire batting style in the shortest format. Although the left-handed batsman has not made his T20I debut, he impressed with his incredible arrival in the Indian Premier League.
Playing for Lucknow Super Giants in his debut season in IPL 2022, Ayush Badoni shattered a half-century. He is still part of the same team and has played multiple match-winning knocks in the lower order. Ayush Badoni has also played many impactful innings as an impact player for LSG.
Early and Personal Life
Ayush Badoni was born on December 3, 1994, in Devprayag City in Uttarakhand to Vivek Badoni and Vibha Badoni. He had only one sibling- his younger brother Pratyush Badoni. He graduated from Sri Venkateswara College in New Delhi.
Domestic Career
The left-handed batsman started his preparation under childhood coaches Balraj Kumar and Tarak Sinha. He started his early coaching in Delhi, where he also undertook his graduation. With a regular show from a young age, Badoni made his debut for the Delhi Ranji Team in 2021.
His big break was getting picked by Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2022. Notably, it was Lucknow Super Giant's debut season and they reached the playoffs where they lost in the Eliminator.
However, with mentor Gautam Gambhir, Badoni earned a lot of praise for his fantastic debut in the tournament with a fifty in the first match.
Franchise Career
Ayush Badoni is just 24 years old and is yet to make his debut in the international circuit. The right-handed batsman has played 42 games in the Indian Premier League and shattered 634 runs at an average of 24+. He has a superb strike rate of 134+ and has already shattered 4 half-centuries for the side.
Due to immense competition in the Indian team, Badoni has struggled to find a place in the national side. However, he has been quite impressive in the three seasons of IPL.
He mustered 235 runs in 12 games at a strike rate of 137+ in the 2024 season. In the prior season, Badoni shattered 238 runs at 138+ strike rate and 161 runs in 13 games at a strike rate of 123+. He is a powerful lower-order batter and a perfect man in the death overs.
