Ravindra Jadeja provides huge fitness update ahead of 3rd England Test

India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has provided a fitness update ahead of the third Test against England. The match between the two teams will take place from 15th February at the Saurashtra Cricket Association ground in Rajkot. 

Ravindra Jadeja suffered a hamstring injury during the second innings of the first game in Hyderabad. The all-rounder then was deemed unfit to take part in the second match in Visakhapatnam and was released from the squad as well. He then headed to NCA for the recovery and put in the hard yards there. 

Ravindra Jadeja then was included in the India squad for the last three Tests against England. But his availability was subject to fitness. The all-rounder was seen batting in the nets days ahead of the third match in Rajkot, which will also be his home Test. 

With India vs England third Test just a couple of days away from now, Ravindra Jadeja posted a picture on his Instagram account. He provided a fitness about, saying that he is looking good on the Indian training kit.

This could well be an indication that Ravindra Jadeja will be match fit by the time the third Test between India and England begins. Him returning to the team will be a massive boost as it will allow the team to have proper balance and head into the match with the perfect combination. 

Ravindra Jadeja has been in fine form with both bat and ball in Tests. He played a huge role for the team in the first game but his efforts went in vain as India suffered a disappointing loss. He was the team’s highest run-getter in the first innings with 87 runs to his name and with the ball he picked 6 wickets in the match including a four-wicket haul in the first innings. 

Ravindra Jadeja will be eager to get fit as soon as possible to play in front of his home crowd in Rajkot. The all-rounder along with Cheteshwar Pujara is all set to be facilitated by the Saurashtra Cricket Association for their contributions to Indian cricket ahead of the match. 

Ravindra Jadeja could play Rajkot Test; KL Rahul ruled out 

India are mulling over the fitness of KL Rahul ahead of the third Test. The batter has been ruled out of the game in Rajkot as he is yet to attain full fitness. He was ruled out of the second Test along with Ravindra Jadeja after facing quadriceps pain. 

Ravindra Jadeja was seen training with the team in Rajkot whereas KL Rahul will continue to remain at NCA. With the all-rounder practicing ahead of the match with the team, it won’t be a surprise if he plays the third game. If he returns back he is likely to replace Kuldeep Yadav in the XI. 

On the other hand, BCCI has added Devdutt Padikkal to the team as a replacement for KL Rahul. The young batter is unlikely to feature in the game but there have been reports which has suggested that Sarfaraz Khan will be making his debut for the team.
