Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir is uncertain about his availability for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Ireland, scheduled to commence on May 10th in Dublin. Mohammad Amir is reportedly ruled out of the T20I series due to his visa unavailability on time, as per Cricket Pakistan.

Mohammad Amir Ruled Out Of Ireland Series - Report

Mohammad Amir encountered visa problems for the Ireland tour as his initial application was rejected, unlike others whose visas were processed smoothly. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) hasn't revealed the reasons for Amir's visa rejection.

The PCB and the Ireland Cricket Board are collaborating to resolve the situation by reapplying for the veteran Pakistan pacer's visa. However, despite their efforts, Amir's has not been issued yet, causing uncertainty about his immediate travel plans.

The PCB is in constant communication with the Ireland Board to assist in Amir's visa approval. However, Amir's departure to Ireland is uncertain, with no clear response yet. There are discussions about him potentially joining the team in England instead, but a final decision is pending and expected soon.

Mohammad Amir To Play Crucial Role In T20 World Cup 2024

Mohammad Amir retired from international cricket in December 2020. However, he reversed his decision and rejoined the Pakistan team during a T20I series against New Zealand. The left-handed pacer took three wickets as Pakistan drew the series against a second-string New Zealand team.

Pakistan appointed Gary Kirsten for white-ball cricket in preparation for the T20 World Cup. Kirsten will start his tenure during the T20I series against England. Pakistan is placed alongside the USA, India, Ireland, and Canada in Group A for the upcoming ICC tournament in the USA and the West Indies.

Pakistan reached the final but lost to England by five wickets at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in the 2022 T20 World Cup. They are among the three teams to reach the knockout stage in the last two T20 World Cups. The Babar Azam-led team will start as favorites to win the title this time.
