Fans believed that Virat Kohli will gain from losing the captaincy in the next IPL 2022. Some of them believed he would play without any obligations because he had already lost his leadership.

He might be the Kohli of old if he were burden-free. They were mistaken, though. In the whole season, Kohli scored 341 runs, a significant decline in form. When the squad arrived in England, where they were scheduled to play a single Test, Kohli’s performance suffered as well. Despite making a fifty in the practice game, he was unable to build on it in Edgbaston.

World Cricket Needs Virat Kohli: Rashid Latif

Former cricket players believe Kohli may yet make a return, despite those who claim his form is permanently lost. Virender Sehwag had previously stated that Kohli might recover from all of this. Rashid Latif, a former cricketer for Pakistan, has since reaffirmed this.

“I do believe, he will come back. I have some hopes. World cricket needs him. Because of the way he plays. In this very match at Edgbaston, he went and picked up a fight.

Pange lete hai full, kabhi Leach se le liya, kabhi Root se le liya. So this is a positive sign that he will surely come back,” Latif said on Youtube channel ‘Caught Behind.’

There Is Hope That Virat Kohli Will Come Back: Rashid Latif

He mentioned how Kohli appeared enthusiastic while fully supporting his bowlers. Latif claimed that his confident demeanour is evidence that he will return shortly.

“Because he is a team man and he supports his players well. And the way he supports them, there is hope that he will come back.”

He continued by saying that by the time he quits, he would rank with legends like Sir Don Bradman and Sachin Tendulkar.

“These things happen in every player’s life. When he leaves cricket, his name will be on par with Sachin Tendulkar. Who knows it may be on par with ‘Sir’ Don Bradman “
