India and South Africa are set to take on each other in the third and final ODI on Sunday at the Newlands stadium in Cape Town. South Africa have already wrapped up the series after winning the first two games.

The Proteas, once again, exhibited a brilliant all-round performance in the second ODI, winning it by seven wickets. Much to the delight of the Indian Cricket Team, KL Rahul won the toss and elected to bat first.

Shikhar Dhawan, once again, looked positive for his 38-ball 29. However, he, unfortunately, got holed out to Magala at deep midwicket. KL Rahul looked scratchy for his 55 off 79 deliveries.

However, it was Rishabh Pant, who changed the momentum of the game. He scored an outstanding 85-run knock in just 71 balls, a knock which was laced with 10 fours and 2 sixes.

Rishabh Pant’s wicket, however, led to a decline in the scoring rate. India could have posted a 300-plus total had he stayed at the crease for a bit longer. Later, Shardul Thakur’s (40 off 38) and Ravichandran Ashwin’s (25 off 24) contributions, however, helped the team reach 287 runs in the first innings.

South Africa made a rollicking start in pursuit of the total. Quinton de Kock and Janneman Malan stitched a 132-run partnership for the opening wicket. Quinton de Kock took the bowlers apart with serious hitting.

He took the game away from the visitors with a brilliant 78-run knock in 66 deliveries. Janneman Malan, on the other hand, managed to score 91 runs off 108 deliveries. Later, Temba Bavuma (35 off 36), Aiden Markram (37 off 41) and Rassie van der Dussen (37 off 38) made valuable contributions to guide the team to a seven-wicket win.
