IND vs WI: Something That Really Stood Out For Me Was His Ability To Absorb Pressure – Paras Mhambrey On Arshdeep Singh

India National Cricket Team bowling coach Paras Mhambrey showered praise on the 23-year-old left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh for showing a great amount of composure under pressure situations in the T20I games.

The 23-year-old pacer, who got his India call-up after consistently performing well for the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has been highly impressive in the international cricket arena.

The left-arm pacer has played 3 T20Is for India and has bagged 5 wickets, including 3 against West Indies and 2 against England. He has picked up his wickets at an average of 13.60, an economy of 5.91 and a strike rate of 13.8.

In the second T20I against West Indies National Cricket Team at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts, Arshdeep bowled the tough overs, including the 17th over and the 19th over and he did an outstanding job with the ball. In the 17th over, the pacer gave away just 4 runs and in the 19th over, he conceded just 6 runs.

India National Cricket Team bowling coach Mhambrey lauded Arshdeep and said that he has got the ability to absorb pressure. He was also pleased to see Arshdeep performing brilliantly for India National Cricket Team.

“I’ve been watching him for a long time now since the IPL as well. Something that really stood out for me was his ability to absorb pressure.

“If you look at it, he bowls the hard overs, the overs in the powerplay and also at the death. In terms of the composure he has shown, I’m very happy, especially the way he turned up in the last game as well.

“This game, the 17th over he bowled, showed a lot about the ability that he has. I’m very happy to see him deliver for the team,” he added.

Meanwhile, the third match of the series will be played at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts on Tuesday, August 2 and the match will commence at a revised time of 9:30 pm IST. The series is levelled at 1-1 after India won the first game by 68 runs and West Indies won the second game by 5 wickets.
