India vs West Indies, IND Playing 11 vs WI (Predicted), 5th T20I, India Tour Of West Indies 2022. India will take on the West Indies in the 4th and 5th T20Is at Lauderhill Stadium, also known as the Central Broward Park & Broward County Cricket Stadium, on Saturday (August 6) and Sunday (August 7).

India has some prior experience at this venue as they have played 4 T20Is here earlier and they will be eager to win the series by winning the 4th T20I with a 3-1 lead. The visitors currently lead the 5-match series 2-1.

India could be in full strength too as skipper Rohit Sharma has recovered from a back spasm that forced him to retire hurt after playing just 5 balls in the 3rd T20I. The elegant opener retired hurt on 11 in the second over of the Indian innings after experiencing discomfort. In his attempt to swing towards the on-side, Rohit Sharma hurt his lower back, which cut his innings short.

India made a brilliant comeback in the third T20I match to win by 6 wickets and lead the series 2-1. Both teams are all set to play in Florida after the visa issues were resolved by the interference of the Guyana president. India has a great chance to win the series in this 4th T20I match and test some of their fringe players in the last T20I match. West Indies on the other hand needs to win this match to keep the series alive and take it to the decider.

In the 3rd T20I, India’s chase took off with Suryakumar Yadav‘s blinder of 76 runs off 44 runs with 8 boundaries and 4 sixes in the match. Shreyas Iyer (24 runs) and Rishabh Pant (33* runs) played vital cameos in the match to win comfortably. Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Ravindra Jadeja (who was rested for the 3rd T20I)  too are in good touch and India might experiment with their batting in this match too.

Pacers Arshdeep Singh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were excellent with the ball and have claimed 7 wickets between them at an economy rate of 7 RPO. Ravichandran Ashwin and Hardik Pandya have joined in the middle overs to strangle the batters effectively. Avesh Khan has been a bit wayward and leaked a lot of runs and Harshal Patel might replace him in the match.

In a major relief for the Indian cricket fans, it has been learned that Rohit Sharma will be available for the last two games on Saturday and Sunday in Florida. The India skipper retired hurt during the 3rd T20 in St Kitts on Tuesday. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said the skipper suffered a back spasm. But with two matches remaining, Rahul Dravid will likely give Kuldeep Yadav and Harshal Patel a go.

India made only two changes in the three matches so far with Ravi Bishnoi dropped to the bench due to tactical adjustments. Deepak Hooda also returned to the XI in place of Ravindra Jadeja to manage his injury. But Avesh Khan, who has had a disappointing run in the series is set to be dropped alongside Shreyas Iyer.

West Indies needs to win this game to stay alive in the series as a loss here would mean India takes an unassailable lead in the series. They demolished Bangladesh in the T20I series right before the India series but the difference in quality is for everybody to see. West Indies needs to come up with a plan to dismiss Suryakumar Yadav early in the innings.

Rohit Sharma is the leading T20I run-scorer after New Zealand’s Martin Guptill having amassed 3443 runs in 129 T20Is averaging 32,48. He was rested for the preceding ODIs against West Indies but will captain the T20I squad in the 5th T20I. He has a maximum of 4 T20I tons besides his name.

In the previous T20I series against England, the right-handed batsman scored 66 runs in 3 games at an average of 22.0. Rohit Sharma top scored with 64 off 44 balls in the 1st T20I against West Indies. He fell for a duck in the 2nd T20I and retired hurt for 11 during the third T20I against West Indies on Tuesday (August 2) in St Kitts.

The elegant opener retired hurt on 11 in the second over of the Indian innings after experiencing discomfort. In his attempt to swing towards the on-side, Rohit Sharma hurt his lower back, which cut his innings short.

Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav may open yet again for the Indian team in the 5th T20I against West Indies after top scoring with 76 off 44 balls in the 3rd T20I. He is the highest run-getter so far in the T20I series with 111 runs averaging 37. The right-handed batsman failed to score in the recent ODI series against West Indies, getting out for cheap scores in 3 games.

However, the right-handed batsman slammed a century in the 3rd and final T20I of the previous T20I series against hosts England. Suryakumar Yadav scored 171 runs in 3 games averaging 57 in the England series. His highest of 117 came in a losing cause against England in the preceding T20I series.

Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant scored only 14 off 12 balls in the 1st T20I against West Indies while batting at No. 4. He scored an unbeaten 33 off 26 balls in the 3rd T20I and scored 24 off 12 in a losing cause in the 2nd T20I. He averages 35.5 amassing 71 runs in 3 T20Is against Windies so far.

Rishabh Pant opened for the first time in T20I cricket during India’s 49-run win over England in the 2nd of a three-match T20I series in Birmingham on Saturday. Rishabh Pant replaced Ishan Kishan in the batting unit and walked out to open with captain Rohit Sharma.

The left-hander hit 26 off just 15 balls as India raced to 49 for no loss inside the 5th over. In the 3rd T20I, he scored only 1 off 5 balls. He had also scored his maiden ODI ton in the ODIs against England and amassed the most runs – 125 in 2 innings.

Deepak Hooda

Deepak Hooda replaced rested Ravindra Jadeja for the 3rd T20I and may retain his place in the 5th T20I too. In 5 T20I innings (7 T20Is) so far in 2022, Deepak Hooda scored 215 runs at an average of 71.67 at a strike rate of 170.63 which includes a record century against Ireland as well.

In the 3rd T20I, Deepak Hooda scored an unbeaten 10 off 7 balls while bowling the 1st over of the Windies’ innings conceding only 1 run. Right-handed batsman Deepak Hooda has played 5 ODIs and 7 T20 Internationals for India so far, but the team has not lost a single match.

Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya might be an all-rounder for the team in the 5th T20I against the Windies. The right-handed batsman was part of the previous T20I series against England. He scored 63 runs in the 2 games and also picked 5 wickets in the series. Hardik Pandya will bat in the middle order for the team.

He scored only 1 in the 1st T20I against the Windies and was wicketless too. He has scored 36 runs in 3 innings so far averaging 12 in 3 T20Is against Windies besides claiming 2 scalps averaging 26.5. He returned to the Indian T20I team after an impressive IPL 2022 and even led in the Ireland T20Is.

Dinesh Karthik

Dinesh Karthik has been a part of the Indian T20I squad since the South Africa series at home. He was retained in the series against England and now against West Indies. He will slot in at number seven as India’s designated finisher.

Following a stupendous IPL 2022 season for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), during which he clobbered 330 runs at a strike rate of 183.33, Dinesh Karthik earned a recall for the T20I series against South Africa at home.

He didn’t disappoint against Proteas, smashing 92 runs in four innings at an average of 46 and a strike rate of 158.62. The 37-year-old was named the Player of the Match for his blazing 55 off 27 balls in the fourth T20I in Rajkot as India leveled the series 2-2. Dinesh Karthik was MOM against the Windies in the 1st T20I too, scoring a cameo of 41 off 19 balls. He has scored 48 runs in 2 innings so far.

Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson was added to the Indian T20I squad for the five-match T20I series against West Indies. He has been added to the squad as a replacement for KL Rahul. The Kerala star was a part of the squad for the recently-concluded ODI series against West Indies but was not named in the T20I squad.

Sanju Samson has struggled to replicate his IPL exploits at the international level as the Kerala batter, who made his debut in 2015, has managed 215 runs at a meager average of 19.30 in 14 T20Is.

His first T20I fifty (77) came in the last T20I match against Ireland-the same match where Deepak Hooda scored his first T20I ton. He may be given a chance in the 5th T20I in place of Shreyas Iyer, who looked mediocre in all the 3 T20Is, managing only 34 runs and averaging 11.33.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be one of the pacers for India in the 5th T20I unless he is rested. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has picked 3 scalps in 3 T20Is against Windies in the ongoing series averaging 19.33 bowling 8 overs.

The right-arm pacer gave a fabulous performance in the recent T20I series against England. Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked 4 wickets in the series and also won the player of the series award.

The right-arm pacer had also grabbed the limelight in the India- South Africa T20I series by winning the player of the series award. The right-arm pacer picked 6 wickets in 4 innings in that series. His X-factor was his economy rate, as he conceded runs at an economy of just 6.07.

Kuldeep Yadav

Ravichandran Ashwin marked his return to India’s T20I setup with the tour of the West Indies. He picked up a total of three wickets so far in 3 T20Is at a strike rate of 24 with an economy rate of 6.66. But Kuldeep Yadav may be preferred for the 4th T20I and 5th T20I.

Kuldeep Yadav last played for India against Sri Lanka in February and also made giant strides in the IPL 2022, picking 21 wickets in 14 games for Delhi Capitals at an economy rate of 8.43. He was named in India’s squad for the South Africa T20Is but owing to an unknown injury, the left-arm chinaman spinner missed the five matches followed by the Ireland and England tour.

Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh was left out of the playing XI against West Indies in all three ODI matches. Notably, Arshdeep Singh took 2 wickets with an impressive economy rate of 5.14 against England, when he got the opportunity to bowl in his maiden T20I wearing Indian colours.

Arshdeep Singh had a groin issue during the England ODIs but was benched after a solitary international appearance in the 1st T20I against England where he took 2/18 in 3.3 overs. Arshdeep Singh has featured in all three T20Is against West Indies up till now and is a certainty for the squad for Asia Cup 2022. In 4 T20I games so far, he has claimed 6 wickets at an impressive average of 16.83 and an economy rate of 6.51.
