Delhi Capitals (DC) batter Prithvi Shaw has recently had this fever for the past two or three weeks and is probably not going to be accessible for the group’s last two league matches, assistant coach Shane Watson said on Thursday.

Shaw missed the group’s last three matches and after its success against Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday, DC captain Rishabh Pant said the Mumbaikar could be experiencing typhoid. Shaw, who had been down with a fever and being admitted to a hospital, last played on May 1, against Lucknow Super Giants.

It’s A Big Loss For Us To Not Have Prithvi Shaw: Shane Watson

“I don’t know his diagnosis exactly,” Watson told the Grade Cricketer.

“But he has just had this underlying fever for the previous couple of weeks, which they’ve had to really get to the bottom of it to find out exactly what it was.

“It’s not looking great for him to be available for the last couple of games, which is a big shame because he is an incredibly skillful young batter, taking the best bowlers in the world down a lot of the time.”

“It’s a big loss for us to not have him. The last couple of weeks he has been under the weather. Hopefully, he gets back to full health soon, but unfortunately, it’s not going to be in time for the minimum of the last two games that we’ve got.”

Shaw had himself shared an Instagram post from his hospital bed, saying he is confident of returning soon.

DC Register Comfortable Win Against RR

Delhi emerged with a plan and figured out how to keep things tight even though not many wickets fell in the first half. Marsh took two significant wickets with the ball but it was the death bowling that assisted DC with confining RR to a standard score. Ashwin was the top scorer for Rajasthan with a fifty.

In reply, the beginning for them however was bad with the bat as Srikar Bharat was back in the pavilion early in the first over. Nonetheless, the Aussie pair of Warner and Marsh sewed together a 144-run stand with Marsh being an attacker. He left for a score of 89 yet at that point, Delhi required only 17, and the conventions were finished by Pant and Warner.
