3 Teams Which Can Target Hardik Pandya In IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Hardik Pandya had a fairly underwhelming campaign for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2021. He didn’t bowl a single over throughout the season and managed to score only 127 runs with the bat in 12 matches at a dismal average of 14.11. Hardik Pandya hasn’t bowled a lot since he underwent his back surgery.

While India have announced their 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup, which includes Hardik Pandya, there are still question marks over his participation in the tournament due to his fitness issues.

For Hardik Pandya, 2021 IPL could be his last season with Mumbai Indians, given the fact that there is a mega auction lined up ahead. There is a belief that a franchise can retain a maximum of three players in the mega auction and Hardik might not be retained by MI. On that note, we take a look at three franchises that can target Hardik Pandya in IPL 2022 Mega Auction.

3 Teams Which Can Target Hardik Pandya In IPL 2022 Mega Auction

Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals finished at the seventh position on the points table in IPL 2021 with 5 wins in 14 matches. Rajasthan Royals, over the years, have picked some of the best all-rounders in the game. Shane Watson was one of the best all-rounders they had during the early years of the tournament. James Faulkner was also an integral part of their set-up for several years.

They bought the services of Ben Stokes in IPL 2020, followed by Chris Morris and Shivam Dube in IPL 2021. Ahead of the 2022 mega auction, Rajasthan Royals will surely go after Pandya if he goes into the auction pool for the mega auction.

Punjab Kings

Punjab Kings won 6 matches out of 14 in IPL 2021 and thus finished at sixth position on the points table. PBKS, perhaps, lacked the services of an Indian all-rounder who could play vital cameos lower down the order and also chips in with 2-3 overs with the ball.

Punjab Kings lost quite a few games in the final over of the match. The presence of someone like Hardik Pandya could have helped them cross the finishing line. Ahead of IPL 2022 mega auction, Punjab Kings would look to avail the services of an Indian all-rounder and there couldn’t be a better choice than Hardik Pandya.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Much like Punjab, RCB also needed an Indian power-hitter down the order who could give them the late flourish needed in the death overs. RCB lacked a solid all-rounder in the middle order. After AB de Villiers at number five, RCB couldn’t find anyone who could play crucial cameos down the order.

The lack of an Indian an-rounder in the team was also evident in the recently concluded Eliminator match between RCB and KKR. Once AB de Villiers and Maxwell departed, RCB had no one to score runs in the final few overs and, as a result, they were restricted to a below-par total.

Ahead of the mega auction 2022, the Royal Challengers Bangalore are surely going to target someone like Hardik Pandya. The addition of Hardik Pandya can provide a great balance to their line-up.
