Harsha Bhogle has been brutally slammed by the cricket fans for his double standard over his latest review of Rohit Sharma’s century during the Mumbai Indians (MI) versus Chennai Super Kings (CSK) IPL 2024 clash at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, April 14.

Rohit displayed his dangerous form in the 29th game of the ongoing IPL 2024 between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Wankhede Stadium. The former MI skipper was on a six-hit spree against Chennai, as he belted five sixes and 11 fours during his remarkable knock.

Fans slam Harsha Bhogle for praising Rohit Sharma's ton against CSK

The senior Indian opener batted till the end to notch up an unbeaten 105 off 63 balls, but he could not take MI over the line and fell short of 20 runs while chasing 207 for a win against CSK on Sunday. After the MI vs CSK clash, Bhogle took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share his view on the match.

The well-known commentator said that Rohit played an excellent inning, but he didn’t get support in the middle, and that’s where MI lost the game against CSK. Bhogle mentioned that Rohit needed some quick cameos from his Mumbai teammates to set up the finish against Chennai.

Harsha Bhogle wrote on X: “Excellent innings in a chase by Rohit. Went at almost par but didn't get the quick cameos through the middle in support. Needed a couple of 20(10) at the other end to set up the finish.”

Well, Harsha’s review didn’t go down well with the fans, especially Virat Kohli’s fans, and they are now going hard at the commentator for his double standard. Fans have been mentioning that Rohit scored his last 17 runs off 17 balls when MI needed the required run rate of 12 and said that if Kohli had done that, the cricket expert would have called him slow and selfies.

Some of them mentioned Kohli’s knock of 113 runs off 72 balls when Bhogle trolled the former Indian skipper for his patient knock. Notably, Kohli is representing Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the ongoing IPL 2024, and he will be seen in action against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 15.

Have a look at how fans reacted to Harsha Bhogle’s review:

Coming back to the MI vs. CSK match, Chennai posted 206/4 on the board thanks to brilliant fifties from their skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad and all-rounder Shivam Dube. For Mumbai, Hardik Pandya was a standout performer with the ball, taking two wickets at the Wankhede Stadium.

Chasing the target, Mumbai fell short of 20 runs against Chennai. Rohit was the hero with the bat for MI, while Ishan Kishan (23) and Tilak Varma (31) could manage to score 20+ runs against the CSK.

Matheesha Pathirana was the standout performer for CSK with the ball, as the Sri Lankan star took a four-wicket haul to help his team successfully defend the target on Sunday.
