Nicholas Pooran has been in fine form in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. After being appointed as the vice-captain of the team just before the start of IPL 2024, the West Indies star has shown remarkable maturity.

He started his campaign with the bat in IPL 2024 with an unbeaten knock of 64 runs although it came in a losing cause against Rajasthan Royals. It was followed by a knock of 42 against Punjab Kings before he scored an unbeaten 40 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. In his fourth outing, he scored an unbeaten 32 against Gujarat Titans as he delivered in the death overs once again.

The kind of form Nicholas Pooran is in at the moment, Delhi Capitals needed something special to get rid of him in the ongoing game and their star spinner Kuldeep Yadav rose to the occasion. The left-arm spinner came up with a gem of a delivery to dismiss the LSG vice-captain for a golden duck.

It was a straighter delivery on the off stump and Nicholas Pooran seemingly anticipated that the ball would turn away. However, he failed to read the delivery and was beaten all ends up. The ball passed through the big gap between the pad and bat before going on to uproot the off stump.

Talking about the game, LSG were reeling at 80 for 5 in the 10th over at the time of writing this report. Khaleel Ahmed dismissed Quinton de Kock and Devdutt Padikkal inside the powerplay to leave LSG reeling at 41 for 2. In the eighth over, Kuldeep Yadav dismissed in-form Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran on consecutive deliveries to put DC in the driver's seat.

In the tenth over, the left-arm spinner struck again and sent back LSG skipper KL Rahul to put his team firmly in command. DC will be hoping that they continue to dominate the game and win it in order to register a much-needed win. DC have managed to win only one of their first five games in IPL 2024 and are desperate to return to winning ways.
