Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are completely in control of the chase against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the ongoing game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The 22nd game of the tournament between the teams is taking place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

After restricting Kolkata Knight Riders to a total of 137 runs, Chennai Super Kings were off to a great start with the bat even though they lost Rachin Ravindra (15). After that skipper Ruturaj and Daryl Mitchell batted tremendously well and it seemed that they would take their team home easily.

However, Kolkata Knight Riders are also making sure that they give their everything and fight till the very end. The fightback was led by veteran spin Sunil Narine, who produced a peach of a delivery to remove Daryl Mitchell at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

During the third ball of the 13th over, Sunil Narine bowled an off-break delivery to which Daryl Mitchell danced down the wicket for the lofted shot. He didn't get to the pitch of the ball, which turned between bat and pad and went on to crash into the middle stump.

As he removed Daryl Mitchell with a peach of a delivery, Sunil Narine was elated with it. He punched the air in joy. This was for the second time when the spinner removed the Kiwi batter in the T20s. In the 11 balls, the batter has managed just 17 runs against the Carribean legend.

Here's the video:

Daryl Mitchell made a valuable contribution for Chennai Super Kings in the chase. He soaked in all the pressure along with skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad as the duo added 70 runs to completely take the game away from CSK. He scored 25 runs off 19 balls.

After his wicket, Shivam Dube (28) entertained the crowd with his power-hitting before Gaikwad (67*) took the team home as Chennai Super Kings won the game by 7 wickets and won their third game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

The plan was to take it as deep as you could - Daryl Mitchell

After the game, Daryl Mitchell opened up his innings, stating that he planned to take the game deep. He also talked about his match-up with Sunil Narine, saying that the KKR spinner is a world-class bowler. Talking about the game, he explained:

"It is always nice to come and play in front of a special crowd and to get the win is cool. The surface was on the slower side, the plan was to take it as deep as you could. [on Narine] He is a world-class bowler and for me it is coming out with plans and put pressure on them, worked tonight and Rutu being there till the end was class to see. I don't mind wherever I bat, I'm here to win games of cricket and it was nice to get the job done."

Chennai Super Kings will next be seen in action when they will take on Mumbai Indians on Sunday (14th April).
