There is absolutely no dearth of intensity on the field whenever Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir take on each other in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match. Known for their feisty natures, both the players competed hard against each other in the IPL over the years and things have not changed much even after Gautam Gambhir’s retirement.

Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli were involved in a heated altercation last season after the game between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow. As the RCB star and Naveen-ul-Haq were involved in a spat with each other, Gautam Gambhir got involved as well. He and Virat Kohli had to be separated from the other players.

Since that infamous scuffle, Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir will be up against each other for the first time on Friday (March 29) when RCB lock horns against Kolkata Knight Riders. After IPL 2023, Gautam Gambhir parted ways with LSG and was appointed as the mentor of KKR.

And ahead of the game, KKR have spiced things up by posting a couple of photos on their social media accounts. The first photo showed Gautam Gambhir in the forefront with a blurred figure in the background and the second picture made things very clear. The blurred person behind Gambhir was none other than Virat Kohli who was staring in the KKR mentor’s direction.

Sharing the two photos, KKR wrote: “Cricket images that hit hard.”

Talking about IPL 2024, KKR began their season with a thrilling four run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad last week. Riding on Andre Russell’s whirlwind fifty, KKR posted 208 before restricting SRH to 204. On the other hand, RCB began their campaign with a crushing six-wicket loss against Chennai Super Kings before beating Punjab Kings to open their account.

Virat Kohli scores big:

After scoring 21 off 20 balls against CSK, Virat Kohli starred with the bat against PBKS. He was the only batter who scored a half-century in the game. The right-handed batsman scored 77 off 49 balls as RCB chased down 176 to register their first win of the tournament.
