South Africa, who had started the five-match series against India with a pair of victories, has now lost two games in a row, allowing the hosts to level the series. The Proteas have been blown away in their last two games, with their batting unit being found wanting on slow pitches in Vizag and Rajkot.

After losing the third T20I by 48 runs in Vizag, the Proteas were bowled out for 87 in the fourth T20I while chasing a target of 170. For the second time in a row, Avesh Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal bowled their hearts out as India successfully defended a total.

South Africa set an unwelcome milestone by achieving their lowest team total in the shortest format, surpassing their previous score of 89, which they achieved when they were skittled out cheaply by Australia in Johannesburg a few years ago.

It Was A Complete Team Performance From India Against South Africa In The 4th T20I

It all started when Proteas captain Temba Bavuma took a few of knocks to the shoulder and elbow, forcing him to leave due to excruciating discomfort. The wickets continued to tumble when miscommunication led to Quinton de Kock’s dismissal for a run-out.

The visitors were now dropping like nine pins as Avesh Khan took the wicket of Dwaine Pretorius and Harshal Patel supplied the major breakthrough by dismissing in-form David Miller. After that, it was all Men in Blue as Avesh took three more wickets and leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took two more, including Heinrich Klaasen’s wicket, as India swept them aside like a rash.

They were eventually bundled out for a double-digit score. Earlier, India was in trouble at 81/4 when Dinesh Karthik and Hardik Pandya put on a quickfire 65-run stand, with the former going on to record his maiden half-century and help India to a winning total of 169 runs.
