The Indian team are all set to play three T20 international-match series against West Indies, starting from Wednesday. The series will be played from 16^th February to 20^th February 2022. Just after concluding the series, the Indian team will play three more T20 internationals against Sri Lanka.

The first two T20 internationals will be played at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, while the final match will be played at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali. India are yet to announce the squad for the T20 series against Sri Lanka. The squad, perhaps, is likely to be decided on the basis of the performance against West Indies. 1. Shikhar Dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan is a mainstay in the Indian team as far as 50-over cricket is concerned. However, when it comes to T20 cricket, the team, perhaps, has looked past Dhawan. He wasn’t part of India’s squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.

He was neither part of India’s T20 squad against New Zealand, nor he is part of the squad for the upcoming T20 series against the West Indies. The southpaw is likely to miss out on the squad for the upcoming three T20 internationals against Sri Lanka as well.

2. Bhuvneshwar Kumar

There is no denying the fact that Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s stocks have seen a major dip in white-ball cricket. The Indian fast bowler has made forgettable returns in the last couple of years in T20 cricket. He looked out of sorts in India’s first match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.

The Indian seamer wasn’t effective in the T20 series against New Zealand either. India could well drop him for the series against Sri Lanka if he doesn’t perform well in the upcoming T20 series against West Indies.

3. Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin marked his return in white-ball cricket after getting picked in India’s squad for the ICC T20 World Cup. He hasn’t taken the world by storm but remains in contention in white-ball cricket.

Unfortunately, Ashwin isn’t part of India’s squad for the upcoming T20 internationals against the West Indies due to an injury. As per reports, he has suffered serious injuries to his wrist and ankle and is unlikely to get fit before the start of the T20 series against Sri Lanka. Ravichandran Ashwin thus will be rested for the series.
