After winning the first Test in under three days, India and Sri Lanka would now head down south to Bengaluru for the second and final Test. While one would have thought that the interest levels would dip after the one-sided affair in Mohali, that is not the case. As per a report, tickets for the first two days of the Pink Ball Test has already been sold out.

The second and final Test of the ongoing two-match series between India and Sri Lanka is set to take place in Bengaluru. After the covid outbreak disrupted the cricket calendar, the city will host its first international match in two years.

Tickets Sold Out For The First Couple Of Days Of The Bangalore Test Between India And Sri Lanka

The limited seats available for the first two days of the pink-ball Test have apparently sold out, despite the fact that fans had waited so long to see an international match.  A dominant India crushed Sri Lanka inside three days for an innings and 222-run win in the series opener played in Mohali.

According to reports, approximately 10,000 tickets were made available for purchase (both online and offline), and they were all purchased. The Karnataka State Cricket Association has reduced the crowd for the day-night match as part of its covid prevention measures, allowing only half of the M Chinnaswamy Stadium’s capacity to be occupied for the Test.

India defeated Sri Lanka by an innings and 222 runs in Mohali to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series. Ravindra Jadeja struck an unbroken 175 and took nine wickets in both innings. After bowling Sri Lanka out for 174 in the first innings, India was obliged to enforce the follow-on.  After lunch, Ashwin struck early in the second innings to dismiss Nissanka, leaving Sri Lanka at 19/2.

In the second session, Dhananjaya de Silva (30) put up a fight, but Jadeja took him out before tea. In the final session, the Saurashtra all-rounder added three more wickets to his tally, further wreaking havoc on the opposition. In 16 overs, he completed with figures of 4/46. With their one-sided win over Sri Lanka in Mohali, India has grabbed a 1-0 lead in the series.

The first game of the series didn’t even last three days, as the hosts won by an innings and 222 runs on Sunday. Sri Lanka fared a tad better, managing 178 before being bowled out.
