Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) all-rounder Will Jacks recently opened up about the comparisons drawn between him and former South African cricketer AB de Villers. Will Jacks admitted feeling daunted by the comparison but expressed determination to contribute to the team in his own capacity.

Will Jacks scored a magnificent century against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on April 28. Jacks reached his maiden IPL hundred off just 41 balls during a 201-run chase. The Bengaluru team successfully chased down a target with four overs to spare in their recent game.

The England batter reached his half-century off 31 deliveries against the Titans. Jacks then changed gears and reached the century mark of the next 10 balls. He scored 100 runs off 41 balls, including five boundaries and 10 sixes. Following his knock, RCB officially appointed Will Jacks as successor to AB de Villiers.

"There’s one man who would be extremely proud watching Will Jacks shine in the Red Blue and Gold of RCB. We’re grateful to have seen AB do this for years, we’re lucky to have Willy J bring back all the memories with his brand of cricket," RCB posted on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Thought Of Kicking Glenn Maxwell Out - Will Jacks

Will Jacks revealed that he was excited after being picked by RCB in 2022, despite being unable to play due to an injury in the last season. Jacks jokingly stated that he wanted to kick Glenn Maxwell out of the buggy while driving.

"I was at home and I was picked. It was amazing, but I got injured. Could not play last season. RCB fans are ridiculous. I was happy to get rid of him, now that he is back I am under pressure. I was driving the buggy. Thought of kicking him out," Jacks added.
