Watch: Andre Russell Bursts Into Laughter In The Dugout After Chris Gayle Dives On The Field

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Andre Russell couldn’t stop himself from laughing after seeing his West Indies teammate Chris Gayle diving on the field to stop the ball when Punjab Kings (PBKS) clashed with KKR in the IPL 2021.

The 21^st match of the IPL 2021 was played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the first-ever Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter to be played at the venue, which will also host the playoffs and the final of the tournament later in the month of May.

Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders won their second match after losing four in a row, as they beat the Punjab Kings by 5 wickets in a brilliant display by the KKR batsmen and bowlers. KKR bowled first after Eoin Morgan won the toss and decided to field.

Punjab Kings were never in the game right from the start as only Mayank Agarwal (31) and Chris Jordan (30) were the only ones to get to cross the 30-run mark. Jordan was the reason PBKS managed to put 123/9 on the board in 20 overs. He hit 3 sixes in his innings as well, as PBKS batsmen struggled against KKR bowlers.

Prasidh Krishna picked three scalps, while Sunil Narine and Pat Cummins got two wickets each.

Though in their reply, KKR lost openers Nitish Rana (0) and Shubman Gill (9), and Sunil Narine (0) early. Rahul Tripathi made 41 in 32 balls with 7 fours and captain Eoin Morgan found some form and stayed unbeaten on 47 with 4 fours and 2 sixes and along with Dinesh Karthik (12*), took KKR past the finish line with 20 balls in hand and five wickets to spare.

This win propelled KKR from the last spot on the points table to the 5^th spot with 4 points to their name.

Meanwhile, a hilarious incident was caught on camera in which Andre Russell was seen laughing after his West Indian teammate Chris Gayle dived on the field. Russell was sitting in the dugout and couldn’t control his laughter after the Universe Boss Chris Gayle’s frolics.

Rahul Tripathi of KKR had hit the ball straight to Chris Gayle, but the Universe Boss decided to put in a hilarious dive in order to stop the ball, leaving Andre Russell in splits, which was caught by the cameraman.
