Team India batsman Cheteshwar Pujara, who is in South Africa with his wife Puja Pabari took to micro-blogging website Twitter revealed they are expecting to become parents.

The 29-year-old Rajkot-born top-order batsman and Test specialist Pujara was thrilled to announce the big news on the South African tour.

“We’re expecting our little bundle of joy this year,” Pujara tweeted photograph on his official Twitter handle which further saw edited version has the hashtag of ‘mom to be’ and ‘daddy’.

The prominent batsman Pujara who has played 54 Tests for India further remarked he wishes all the best to everyone while adding his family is expecting to cherish the New Year with the appearance of a child.

“May the coming year be as blessed and happy for everyone as it’ll be for us,” Pujara’s tweet added.

It is significant to mention Pujara tied the knot with Puja in February 2013 and 2018 has been a blessing for the couple which would further see the former featuring in the impending three-match Test series that is slated to kick off on January 5 at Newlands in Cape Town (Friday) against Faf du Plessis-led Proteas.

Moreover, Pujara has enjoyed the third spot in the ICC Test ranking for a player, as he collected 873 points in the Test charts for a batsman.

Earlier, Pujara reiterated the visitors’ bowling has been doing well, and they know it well to be right at their business while remarking the hosts is not now what it used to have been in the yesteryears.

Pujara has a massive role to play in the overseas conditions at the top for Virat Kohli-led India, as the hosts are subsequently having the quality bowlers ready for the epic challenge.

Averaging 52.96 in the five-day format, Pujara has amassed 4,396 runs. He smashed 14 hundreds and 16 fifties under his belt and had also played five ODIs while donning the coloured jersey.

In four Test fixtures in South Africa, Pujara made his appearance in seven innings to score 311 runs at an average of 44.42. He has registered a hundred and a fifty respectively.

However, at home in the same number of fixtures, Pujara averaged at 33.66. He has a solitary 50 under his belt, as he collected 202 runs in six innings.
