Former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni added yet another feather to his already illustrious cap on Wednesday (February 7), becoming the first Indian and just the fourth overall wicketkeeper to effect 400 dismissals in One-Day Internationals.

The World Cup-winning skipper achieved the rare feat when he stumped South Africa’s stand-in captain Aiden Markram off chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav during the third match in Cape Town.

Former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara, who retired in 2015, leads the list with 482, followed by Australia’s Adam Gilchrist (472) and South Africa’s Mark Boucher (424).

In 315 ODIs so far, Dhoni has taken 294 catches in addition to affecting a record 106 dismissals. The 36-year old is the first and so far only wicketkeeper to reach 100 stumpings in the 50-over format.

Meanwhile, Twitter was quick to congratulate Dhoni for the remarkable feat. Here are some of the messages:

Coming to the match, Dhoni did not have the best out outings with the bat, as he could score only ten off 22 balls. However, India managed to post a formidable total of 303 for six in the allotted 50 overs, courtesy of a monumental 160-run knock by skipper Virat Kohli. Shikhar Dhawan also made a useful contribution, scoring a fluent 76.
