England’s premiere Test bowler, Stuart Broad, is all set to be relieved from his new ball duties. Mark Wood would take over the role from Broad in the upcoming Pink Ball Test against New Zealand.

The move of Broad assuming the first change role with ball apparently hasn’t gone down well with the lanky fast bowler. His partner in crime James Anderson suggested that Broad is ‘disappointed’ about the change in tactics from Joe Root.

According to Anderson, Stuart Broad has been working a lot on his action since the Ashes series in Australia. Jimmy Anderson further revealed that Broad looked a different bowler in the last couple of outings.

Stuart has done a lot of work on his activities during the time off between the Ashes and now. He has looked a different bowler in the last two games we’ve played,” revealed James Anderson while talking to Sky Sports.

He looks refreshed, confident, his action looks really strong and he’s getting the ball to move away from the right-handers, which is something he struggled a little bit within recent times,” added the second-ranked bowler in Test cricket.

Broad is just one wicket shy of clinching 400 Test wickets. The Nottinghamshire man had a torrid Ashes series down under where he claimed just 11 wickets in 195 overs bowled.

Think it’s a good option to have Broad coming on first change: Anderson

Obviously, he [Broad] is disappointed. He’s a very proud bloke. We’ve opened the bowling together for a number of years and he’s looking really threatening. I think it’s a good option to potentially have him coming on first change,” Anderson states.

He has bowled first change in the past and I can see what Joe [Root] wants to do with looking to the future, but also having that experience to come on first change,” concluded James Anderson.
