The way Phil Salt was batting in the ongoing game between Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings at the Eden Gardens, the visitors needed something special to get rid of the Englishman.

And PBKS captain Sam Curran eventually rose to the occasion by castling his England teammate with a beauty. PBKS's decision to bowl first turned into a nightmare soon as Sunil Narine and Phil Salt once again came out all guns blazing. The duo shared a 138-run stand for the first wicket to put KKR in the driver's seat.

The partnership came off just 62 balls. Rahul Chahar broke the stand by dismissing Narine in the 11th over. The left-handed batter departed after scoring 71 runs off just 32 balls. His knock was studded with nine fours and four sixes.

Phil Salt and Venkatesh Iyer then took the score past the 150-run mark before Curran dismissed the former to give PBKS a much-needed breakthrough. Curran needed a perfect delivery to dismiss the KKR opener and he did exactly that.

On the first two deliveries of the 13th over, Phil Salt hit the left-arm pacer for two sixes before being clean bowled on the third delivery. It was the perfect yorker from the PBKS captain and Salt had no answer to it. The ball went on to crash into the off stump. The KKR opener departed after scoring 75 runs from just 37 balls with the help of six fours and as many sixes.

Watch as Sam Curran castles Phil Salt:

Talking about the game, KKR were on 190 for 2 after 15 overs at the time of writing this report. Andre Russell and Venkatesh Iyer were batting in the middle for the hosts. KKR will be eyeing the 250-run mark after the kind of start they have got.

The two-time IPL champions have already posted a huge total of 272 runs this season and will back themselves to breach the 250-run mark again.
